Midprofile for eBay 2.0 is a free mobile service that lets eBay users create full-featured eBay listings on a mobile phone or smartphone. You can add custom text, capture or import up to six full-size free photos per listing, select an optional YouTube video clip, then submit it to eBay in a single click. The listing looks exactly the same as if you created it on a PC. Midprofile for eBay is the only mobile solution with such powerful eBay listing capability. Use Midprofile along with your favorite eBay shopping and bidding mobile applications to bring a new dimension to your eBay experience.

You can create any combination of pictures along with an optional YouTube video clip: photos only, photos and a YouTube video clip, or video only. We recommend that each new listing have at least one photo so you can take advantage of eBay's Picture Gallery view. Midprofile for eBay adds photos to your listing on the fly and places them in your new listing automatically. You can seamlessly add a YouTube video clip as you create your new eBay listing. This is a great shortcut because Midprofile embeds the YouTube video automatically. Your new listing appears on eBay with the YouTube video player displayed in the description area along with the text description and any added photos.

You need a mobile phone, smartphone or PDA that supports Java version Midp 2.0 or above. Most mobile handsets shipped today either are Java-enabled or can be prepared to run Java applications. If your phone supports Java applications or games, has a camera, and if your carrier allows use of the camera and network by Java mobile applications, your phone should work.

There are no fees for using Midprofile for eBay services. Our photo hosting is also free. You can do most of your eBay listing activity on your mobile phone without a live connection. You use carrier airtime only during actual data transmission to eBay or YouTube or for live updates. Phone carriers typically charge for Internet usage, text messages, and data transfer. We recommend that you arrange an unlimited wireless data plan with your carrier to minimize these costs. Ordinary eBay listing fees apply and eBay will bill your seller account in the usual way.

First, read our Terms of Use and review our Privacy Policy for assurances about your private data protection and security. Your eBay password is never required when you use Midprofile and remains completely private. Choose the Signup button to display the Midprofile Signup page and fill in the required and optional fields. When the form is completed you create an eBay token for your account. The token validates your identity to eBay and is stored on Midprofile's website as long as your account is valid.

Yes! Your email address will not be shared or distributed by Midprofile for any reason. We require a valid current email address to activate your account, to enable support, and to keep you up-to-date with Midprofile events.

If you want to include YouTube video clips in your eBay listings Midprofile needs your YouTube ID to read the names of the videos in your YouTube account. The Midprofile for eBay Video-id menu option displays the names of all your YouTube videos in a scrollable list. You can seamlessly add the selected YouTube video clip as you create your new eBay listing. This is a great shortcut because Midprofile embeds the YouTube video automatically. Your new listing appears on eBay with the YouTube video player displayed in the description area along with the text description and any added photos.

When you submit a new listing with Midprofile for eBay it appears live on eBay in seconds. You can use the Listing Delay option if you prefer to delay the eBay start time. (Note that eBay charges for scheduled starts and that you must have a credit card on file at eBay to be eligble to use this option.) The delayed listing will appear in your My eBay Scheduled Selling summary. The delay lets you review your new eBay listing before it goes live. You can set a delay in minutes on the Midprofile Signup page from 0 minutes (no delay) up to 1440 minutes (24 hours delay). The delayed start time will apply to all your Midprofile for eBay listings until you reset this field. You can overide the delay for a particular item listing (and eBay's scheduling fee) by choosing "Start listing immediately" from My eBay on your PC.

What eBay account details do I need to provide?

To create a free Midprofile for eBay account you need to provide a valid eBay User ID and eBay site where you are registered as a seller. First, enter your eBay User ID. You do NOT need to disclose your eBay password. Choose the eBay location from the drop-down list. Midprofile currently support the Parts & Accessories area on the USA eBay Motors site. Even if your Midprofile account is set up for eBay USA, you will need to set up an additional Midprofile account for the USA eBay Motors site to list parts and accessories. (Please note that Midprofile does not support moving vehicle sales on eBay.)

Your PayPal email address is where you want buyers to make payments to you. Midprofile recommends that you provide this address as backup. In circumstances where Midprofile cannot find your PayPal email address automatically (for example, if you have not linked the PayPal email address to your eBay account) Midprofile will use the PayPal email address you specify. You do NOT need to disclose your PayPal password.

This field is needed when you are listing eBay items with Midprofile standard profiles. Your Zip/Postal code shows exactly where your items are shipped from. It enables eBay buyers to find your items when they do Distance searches within a certain geographic area.

Your Midprofile User ID and Password is used for logging in to both your mobile device and your Midprofile account. Do not use your eBay User ID. Each must be 6-characters minimum in any letter and number combination. Both fields are case-sensitive. The User ID has a 15-character limit; the Password has a 10-character limit and MUST have at least one numeric character.

Choose Final Step - Create eBay Token when your account data is complete.

1. Enter your eBay User ID. This MUST match the eBay User ID that you entered when you created your Midprofile account.
2. Enter your eBay password to log on to eBay and display the Midprofile Authorization window.
3. Choose Agree and Continue to authorize eBay to share your transaction information with Midprofile.
4. Follow the instructions on the Welcome to Midprofile window to activate your account.

After you create an eBay token Midprofile sends you an account verification activation message. Be sure to check your spam folder if you do not see email from Midprofile in your inbox.

1. Click on the activation link. You will see the Midprofile message ACCOUNT SUCCESSFULLY ACTIVATED.
2. Now look for an additional email message from Midprofile containing your login details. Keep this information so you will remember the correct user id and password for your Midprofile account.

To change your contact info, password and other account related information log in to your Midprofile account. Choose My Account to open the Account Management Page. Make any changes you want then click the Update Account button to save your changes.

If you'd like to cancel your account, send an email to support@midprofile.com with your request. We need your authorization to delete your account. Be sure to include your username and password so we can verify your account information.

If you intend to include YouTube videos created on your phone in your eBay listings, you need to provide your YouTube Userid (but not your password) on your Midprofile account. You can do this when you create your Midprofile account, or at a later time by updatin your Midprofile account details.

If you don't yet have a YouTube account, follow these steps:

1. Register at youtube.com
2. After you create your YouTube account, go to youtube.com/mobile
3. Register your mobile phone and get a unique email address that enables you to send videos created on your phone to YouTube.
4. Follow the instructions available on the YouTube site to learn how to use the MMS Send feature on your phone.

The Midprofile for eBay Video-id menu option displays the names of all your YouTube videos in a scrollable list. You select the video associated with the item you want to list and Midprofile embeds it in the new listing automatically. Take a look at the instructions in the Midprofile for eBay Guide.

You can choose from your most recent twenty-five YouTube videos that you posted. However, you can embed only one YouTube video per item listing using Midprofile.
